Highlights being site inspection visits for B!FH to Milan and Madrid to include familarisation tours of both the Bernabeau and San Siro stadia.

Just a Drop:  Fantastic news! All Leisure group pledged £1 million to the Just Help Haiti Appeal.  Wrote and co- art directed the charity’s first ever e-newsletter.

Returned from a Best! Football Holidays’ site inspection visit to Turkey. Hugely impressed by the training facilities in Antalya especially those at WOW’s Football Center. Overwhelmed by Istanbul’s history and culture – a must -go destination for school tours. Thanks go to Murat and Mehmet for their guiding.

We were all stunned by the horrific images being beamed into our sitting rooms that Tuesday. On Thursday night Fiona, Just a Drop's chairman, agreed that we should postpone our 'Friends for Life' advertising in The Sun and by the end of play Friday we had launched our JUST HELP HAITI Appeal.

In the week that followed the travel & tourism industry rallied together behind us and plans were put in place to fly in our engineers as soon as the emergency relief operation was over so rebuilding local communities' water & sanitation infrastructure could begin.

Rio de Janeiro 19-27 November
Has to be one of my best ever site inspection visits and the many new business opportunities are very encouraging . Rio was breathtaking and the football breathless. With the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and Olympics in 2016, this City is going places fast. Big thumbs up go to my incredible guide, Jean Jacques Immerman, one of our Best! of the Best.

Once again proved to be a brilliant opportunity to see what’s up and coming in the global travel and tourism. And catch up with friends and colleagues.  On the business front met local agents and discussed new product development for worldwide football, culinary, dance and garden holidays.

The Sun Big Charity Holiday Auction
The culmination of a gifts in kind strategy proposal presented to Just a Drop in October 2008. Over 30 worldwide holidays have been generously donated by travel & tourism companies to appear on The Sun’s website during November and December. My own holiday sourcing – including linking up hotels, airlines and ground handlers – included holidays to Austria, Brazil, China, Cuba, Iceland and Turkey

The Travel Club
I was appointed marketing director of The Travel Club in June. In the 4 months leading up to the official launch in September, I worked alongside Pressed for Time to write and produce the Club’s website, HTML broadcasts and corporate literature. I currently play a key role in developing the member recruitment strategy including tactical offers and value added member services.

Just a Drop
A very hectic but hugely rewarding summer with my ‘You do the Maths’ creative concept being rolled out across all communications to give even more resonance to disturbing child mortality facts and figures. At the very core has been writing the charity’s new website and building a corporate and media partnership strategy.

‘Walk the World’ at WTM
A fun, imaginative and simple way for World Travel Market delegates to support Just a Drop by buying a pedometer to measure how far they walk at the exhibition. I also secured the sponsorship of the Austrian Tirol Tourist Board where ‘walking’ was one of their main marketing themes of the year.
